While we typically focus on the breweries themselves on the pod, it's always fascinating to chat with the people who help drive the industry forward. Specialty beer stores are the primary way that craft beer drinkers in Quebec obtain their sweet, sweet liquid, and they have a holistic understanding of the consumer that even the breweries may not have.
Cee hung out with friends and beer travellers turned entrepreneurs Kevin Moreau and Guillaume Lallier, who started La Canette, a specialty beer depanneur, in their quartier of Villeray one year ago. We chatted about their inspiration to start their own store, how their vegan ethics shine through the products they choose to sell, we chat about the trends they're seeing and any consumer buying patterns they've noticed, the special beers they secured for the anniversary, and a whole lot more. We crushed four beers they hand-selected - Maltstrom Pilsner Czeck, À La Derive Session Hamac session IPA, La Barberie Ogunquit 3000 NEIPA, and 5e Baron's Fiddle oatmeal stout. Cheers!
